Coverage and cloth
A heavyweight unisex hoodie usually does both jobs. It hangs. It layers over a long top. It does not need a lecture. If the product photos look thinner than you like, size up so the hem and sleeves stay generous.
The design test
Stand in front of a mirror, or imagine doing so, and ask whether you would wear this to jumuah, to a family house, and to a quiet errand. If you would only wear it to make a point, it is merch. If you would wear it because it is yours, it is clothing.
