Clothes first

If the hoodie is not something you would put on for a cold morning, the message on it does not matter. Start with a unisex heavyweight fit, a colour you already own other things in, and a print that still looks right after a wash.

Then look at the words. Sabr. Salaam. Alhamdulillah. A line about what is written reaching you. Those are not slogans we invented to fill a chest. They are things people already say. The job of the garment is to carry them quietly.

What belongs on your back

Wear words you can stand in. If a design would embarrass you in the masjid car park, it does not belong in this shop. If it would make a stranger think you are selling a mood rather than living a deen, skip it.
